Twelfth Night All Dressed Up’ is a project designed for Schools, family audiences, kids (aged 8-12) and anyone who loves a laugh and fake tash! It’s a hilarious, clown, actor-musician story of love, lust, mistaken identity and yellow stockings!

Staying true to Shakespeare’s text and story with original songs from SuRie (Eurovision singer-songwriter of 2 albums and multiple singles) and Jon Whitten (co-writer for Mercury winning band Alt-J and solo artist) who will create an electro-folk-pop musical soundscape with a fusion of original and Shakespearian lyrics.

There’s also a sprinkling of words from other Shakespeare plays to truly explore the role of gender and identity in this ambitious tale of women, playing men, falling for women, being mistaken for men, who are actually women, who are men, who aren’t either, who are both …. you get the gist!

A cast of four ridiculously funny clowns from marginalised genders invite you to watch the madness unravel during this 60 minute, multi role production of ‘Twelfth Night; All Dressed Up’.

Lizzie (Messy Spirit AD/ Co-Producer/ Movement Director) says ‘We are thrilled to be working with The Place Theatre, Bedford. As a local artist The Place have supported me ever since I moved to Bedford three years ago. They have given their time, amazing expertise, local knowledge and contacts and now are offering great spaces where we can rehearse, perform and film our work. With their help I have had two successful ACE funded bids; the first of which meant I was able to train as a producer (DYCP) and the second for this exciting R&D (project grants). We are very grateful for this venue who seem keen to nurture local talent and invest in the Bedford community.’
