The Place Theatre is excited to be hosting the final event of the inaugural Bedford and Milton Keynes Jazz Festival.
Featuring a set from a support act and two sets from an illustrious main act:
Gareth Lockranes Grooveyard

Featuring in the group are Gareth Lockrane on Flutes, Alex Garnett on Saxes, Dave Whitford on Bass, Jim Watson on Piano/Hammond Organ and Tim Giles on drums. Gareth is an internationally known artist who runs a wide range of groups. In 2002, he formed the band Grooveyard which released a critically acclaimed CD Put The Cat Out which went on to win the Best European Jazz Group award in the 2003 Granada Jazz Festival.
Their new 2012 album The Strut is the sequel to Put The Cat Out and has been released on Whirlwind Recordings.

This group creates a party atmosphere with the some of the most grooving tunes you will hear.

The first Bedford and Milton Keynes Jazz Festival is being run from the evening of Friday the 27th of March to the evening of Sunday the 29th of March, managing to pack in a total of 7 gigs, at 7 different venues, with a grand total of 10 acts.

The aim of the festival is to spread the word of Jazz to new audiences around the region, proving how exciting, relaxing, interesting and accessible the music really is.

Set to be jam packed weekend full of a variety of different styles of Jazz music, ensuring that there is something for everyone!
