This Thursday The Place Theatre is excited to commence their ‘All The Jazz’ Concert Series for 2022.
To kick things off we have a superb line up of musicians featuring Vittorio Mura on Tenor Saxophone & Reiss Beckles (Alto Saxophone).

London based saxophonist, composer and educator, Reiss Ellis Beckles is a young, versatile and diverse artist with a strong background & understanding in many genres of music in particular Jazz, Pop and Hip Hop. In 2016, shortly after graduating from Trinity Laban, Reiss moved to New York where he was accepted to study at The Aaron Copland School Of Music, Queens College where he obtained his Masters In Jazz Performance.

A graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the City College of New York, Vittorio Mura has studied with some of the world’s finest musicians, including Jason Rigby, Steve Wilson, Nasheet Waits, Jean Toussaint and Mike Williams.

Currently based in New York City, Mura is known for his lyrical playing with an emphasis on interplay, improvisation and risk-taking; whilst being deeply inspired by the lineage of the tenor saxophone.

He has performed extensively at various clubs and venues throughout the UK and Europe, including the Vortex Jazz club, Ronnie Scott’s, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Cheltenham, Manchester, Glasgow and Trondheim jazz festivals.

Supporting these musicians in the rhythm section will be Phil Stevensen (Guitar), David Ferris (Hammond Organ) & Mark Hale (Drums.)
We’ve created a Spotify Playlist of some great Jazz recordings to help guide your listening this week, so do have a listen and come and join us this Thursday 20th January at The Place Theatre!
