Based on his earlier play, Fin de Partie, Beckett’s Endgame was translated into English by him and first performed in 1957 at the Royal Court Theatre. Beckett felt that Endgame was a better play than Waiting for Godot; it also features someone who is waiting: Clov is waiting to leave his blind master, Hamm …….
