In today’s fast-moving world, stress is increasingly part of our everyday lives and its impact on health and well-being is widely known.
Learning the basics of The Alexander Technique can help reduce the effects of stress, both physically and mentally. Using practical methods, you will understand what triggers stress and how to act quickly to avoid matters spiralling out of control.
The 90-minute course covers:
- How to recognise the early signs of stress
- How to use your stress response to your advantage
- Techniques to reduce neck, back and shoulder pain
- Breathing exercises to relieve stress symptoms
- How to change your attitude and response to stressful situations
- Relaxation techniques
The course is ideal for both performers and non-performers and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Please bring 3 slim paperback books as these will be used to support your head while lying on the floor during relaxation. An alternative position will be used for those not wishing to or not able to lie down.
