We are proud to be working with contemporary director Ryushi Lindsay to present two of his shorts as part of our Japan Film Season. Join us as he guides us through his works with a curated introduction and a post showing Q&A with our very own Simão Vaz (both will be pre-recorded).

KOKUTAI (2019)

Literalizing the titular term roughly translatable as “body politic,”Kokutai examines the spectacular aesthetics of Japan’s biannual national high school baseball tournaments, bringing together stark black and white montage with an original score by Andy Trewren.
