Matt McGinn is a singer, songwriter and producer from Hilltown in Co. Down.
This year sees the release of Matt's 4th album 'Lessons of War'. For three years Matt has reached out to musicians from areas of conflict all over the world asking them to participate in this global music project. 'Bubblegum' the lead single from the album was one of the most played songs on BBC Radio Ulster in 2019, and was inspired by the diary of a young teenage girl living through the Troubles.
BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson described it as “extraordinary”. Matt was labelled as 'One to Watch in 2020' by Hotpress magazine, and fans of his music range from legendary BBC presenter Bob Harris to musicians Ricky Ross and Christy Moore.
Matt will be joined by John McCullough, often described as Ireland's finest pianist and session musician. He has previously toured with The Waterboys and Declan O'Rourke to name a few, and has just finished a run of dates in the USA with Sinead O'Connor.
