What is the future of nature? 

Overgrown is a new game about the tangled relationship between humans and nature. Players collectively imagine the story of their local area over the coming decades. New animal species arrive, climate impacts hit, people come and go, and the world changes. We lose and we gain, and the future is always stranger than we expect.

Played in teams over Zoom, Overgrown is a prompt for conversations about our relationship with nature and other species. Over the course of the game, players share their hopes and fears for the future, unpack the competing agendas at play in their region, and explore solutions and compromises.

Game Details:

• Find players: Each ticket is for one group. After buying your ticket, you will be invited to assemble your own team to play the game. The show works better with groups of 3 to 5 players sharing a space together, but can be played by groups from 2 to 6 players.
• Find a place to play: You can choose to play wherever you want, as long as your group is physically together and has access to a good internet connection. We recommend to play around a table, with one laptop connected to the internet. 
• Pick a common location: You will be invited to imagine the future of your local area, so it is better if you are all from the same place, or are familiar with one common location. It can be Bedford, but you can also choose to play around a different area. Different groups can choose different locations as you will all be playing independently.
• Get your kit: The show is facilitated via Zoom. After buying your ticket, you will receive a pack by post with key instructions and items you need to play the game. We will also email you the Zoom link to connect with our game maker and the other groups online on the day. The game will include a combination of group discussion via Zoom and online prompts, followed by games played in person within your group.
