this 'support worker' once said “what d'ya need books for yr homeless?”. our revenge was thirteen years of reading, graduating from the open university, 2016c.e..
this highly visual performance is all about giving voice, changing 'the' narrative, rewriting the future. we kick the bucket, show how red tape saves lives, hand out crime-scene tape for all and ask whose the bigger criminal – us or the govern-mentals : provoked offers creative resistances and shows how to reframe narratives – housing is a human right. ultimately estate-agent plastic gets turned into a wee home lit by a book while the austerity-crutch flowers thanks to pages of a book.
the title of the show is a line from engels conditions of the working class in england
