ADULT WORKSHOP
Step into the world of dramatic combat. Learn the basics of unarmed combat for the stage. In this workshop you’ll focus on how to move your body safely and effectively without a weapon in order to tell a violent story with accuracy and dynamic action.

You will learn how to communicate with a fight partner in the moment as you learn how to punch, kick and grapple one another, working towards being able to perform a phrase of fight choreography at the end of the workshop.

This workshop is for all abilities and physicalities, no experience is required. All techniques can be manipulated to suit the physical requirements of the participant. Please bring a water bottle and sweat towel and wear appropriate movement clothes and footwear.

This workshop is of a physical nature and so has an element of danger to it. Any participant who suffers from heart conditions, recurring injuries, back problems, sports injuries, pregnant women or participants with any other issues of concern should take advice before they take part in any of the activities or if there is any doubt, please seek medical advice or approval from your individual doctor.

YOUTH WORKSHOP
All drama is conflict, situations in which ordinary people find themselves in extraordinary circumstances, and when words no longer suffice they find themselves drawn to action. This unarmed Stage Combat workshop focuses on teaching participants the basic but often-used techniques of hand-to-hand combat utilised on stage and screen. Participants will learn to slap, punch, kick, grapple with and strangle one another, and will progress from learning individual techniques to performing phrases of choreography that will challenge them to move the fight throughout the space, whilst making each move work for the audience and maintaining a spatial awareness as well as an awareness of their partner's safety.
