That's what friends are for

With venues around the country under threat of closure it is more important to ensure that we protect Bedford’s only fully integrated theatre encompassing both community and professional work. We also provide a home for many diverse community groups which use it for meeting, art and theatre classes, Pilates, yoga and much more.

Bedford Players Trust, a charity, is responsible for running The Place and does not receive any direct financial support from government to enable it to do so. We are entirely reliant on ticket sales, hire income and bar sales to manage the programme and maintain the building. Whenever we want to grow, develop or undertake new projects we use this capital and money raised through funding applications to push us forwards.

How can you help to keep The Place running once we are permitted to reopen?

Our status as a charity means that you can also do your part to help us stay open and offering the spaces and services to the local community. You can donate to us as a one off by heading to our donations page LINK HERE, or you can make a regular contribution by joining our Friends’ scheme.

As well as the benefits which are set out below you will be helping us to continue and extend the current programme of events, grow our team, provide even more great cultural activity for the people of Bedford, and improve the facilities for you, our audiences, and the numerous community groups who have made their home with us over the past 18 years.

From the results of a recent survey carried out with our supporters we know that The Place is well thought of within the community and we want to be here for the community for many years to come.

Please support us.
