Songwriter and singer Juliet Lawson reveals the secrets of her suitcase.... A vast catalogue of original songs composed over the past three decades. Ranging through jazz, blues, ballads and the downright quirky, she sings of life with all it's highs, it's lows, with candour, humour and insight.

Juliet Lawson is indeed a rare talent - she writes bittersweet songs that reflect her wry and often witty view of modern life. Born in London, Juliet learned to play the piano at school and decided early on that she wanted to be an artist, going on to study theatre design at Wimbledon College of Art and working as the assistant designer at the Royal Court Theatre. She joined a rock band called Wooden House, wrote dozens of songs and was finally signed to Sovereign Records which released her first highly acclaimed album, "Boo", in 1973.

"Boo" sold over 3,000 copies in the first two months, receiving ecstatic reviews in a number of publications as diverse as Melody Maker and the Daily Telegraph. Following the success of Boo, Juliet recorded another two albums and wrote music for a TV show and a musical which was staged in London.

Juliet will be accompanied by Bill Meredith on piano.

"Delicious lyrics, soulful ballads with a twist of Jazz...."

"Witty, gritty, captivating songs...."

"Sometimes raunchy, sometimes soulful, often surprising... if you appreciate delicious lyrics and serious tunes, she writes of today's issues with extraordinary candour...."

"Juliets songs fire the emotions.... A rich mix of musical styles will leave you moved and fascinated...."

Tickets for this show are priced at £8.00.
