Hasbian takes audiences on a queer coming-of-age journey, fromBeth’s childhood to cringey adolescence – from identifying as a teenage lesbian, to realising boys are also appealing.
Featuring hilarious entries from Beth’s real diaries (“Lindsay and I keep trying to revise, but we always end up having sex – oh well!” – Beth, age 14) the world of Hasbian is illustrated with dynamic projections by Edalia Day. Animated magazine cut-outs of iconic 00s teen-movie stars bring to life Beth’s friends (and girlfriends… and boyfriends) as “played by” the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Ashton Kutcher.
The show is fun, upbeat, and packed with 90s-00s pop culture and a throwback soundtrack (S Club, B*Witched, Destiny’s Child)
