Snatches: Moments from 100 Years of Women’s Lives

RUFF Theatre is proud to present Snatches: Moments from 100 Years of Women’s Lives— a powerful collection of eight extraordinary monologues documenting a century of struggle, resilience, and progress for women in the United Kingdom.

Commissioned to mark the centenary of women’s suffrage and first aired on BBC Four.

Now brought to the stage, Snatches gives voice to women whose stories demand to be heard.

Moving, funny, tragic and fiercely empowering, these monologues explore the relentless efforts of women to carve out their rights in both domestic and public life — from the criminalisation of marital rape to the first Reclaim the Night march. Together, they proclaim a history of perseverance and resistance that continues to shape our society today.

Originally performed by an acclaimed cast including Jodie Comer, Siobhan Finneran, Romola Garai, Shirley Henderson, Liv Hill, Corinne Skinner-Carter, Kiran Sonia Sawar and Antonia Thomas, the series was widely praised for its expertly written and compelling performances.
