Celebrating the life and music of Peter Green….MAN OF THE WORLD
What a gig and a real pleasure to be there!
From the formative years with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers to the early incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, these guys really did justice to a musical hero whose light burned so brightly but for all too short a time. They played with style, delicacy, aggression and no little panache.
It was also something of a first for me – I’ve seen drummers sing before but never have I seen one play a harmonica solo while drumming. Frontman Dave Small took to the kit for this performance due to the family commitments of the band’s usual player, and fulfilled both roles superbly! And on a drum kit that had once been used by John Bonham….
